Mixed Feelings about Election 2008

Greetings… I’m really at a loss. Obama/Biden… what a pair. The pair are the #1 and #3 most liberal Senators.  This would be fine if the term liberal meant what the original dictionary definition meant. Sadly it doesn’t.  Today’s liberal as these two behave, basically means. Socialist.  You can hear it very strongly from Sen. Obama. Unfortunately for us, his Change and Hope are going to translate into Higher taxes, more government intrusion and less of the America we grew up with.  His wife is a socialist/Marxist … she has stated some (rich people) need to give up some of their pie, so others can have some more…. Gee, what happened to hard work and achievement… oh yeah in the new America, that won’t go unpunished. In a commercial that Obama ran, he wants to impose a “windfall profits tax on ‘Big Oil’” Then redistribute this wealth to the poor people.  Wait a minute, since when do we have a maximum amount of profit that we will allow?  If the government takes this money, who will actually be paying this tax?  It certainly will not be the oil companies… It will be the customers. Oh yeah You and I will pay more at the pump… gee that would be a great idea! Socialized health care… Universal healthcare sounds more inviting, what function of the federal government currently work so well that it makes us think that they’d do a great job running healthcare?  I can’t think of one.  Taking care of the poor is a great and noble thing…. Recently Obama quoted scripture to show us we need to help the poor, who is this we????  Its certainly not the Federal Government, but that is what the Democrat party has been trying to sell us for years, finally now it has the far left Obama to sell it.  The responsibility of this is Americans as Individuals, not the Government taking taxes out of our wages and then inefficiently distributing it to the poor. Unfortunately the answer is not on the Republican side of the aisle either. Mccain is not a conservative… He is the democrat that I would have complained about as far back as I can remember. He’d be your dad’s democrat.  (okay my dad is not a democrat, but whatever)  So really this election is between a Democrat posing as a Republican, and a socialist posing as a democrat…. HA!  Before I could post this, McCain goes and does something I like. Picking Palin as his running mate… She despite all the stupid sleazy things the “unbiased” media are trying to rake her family through the coals with.  No it is not contradictory for a conservative to still support someone who’s unmarried daughter became pregnant.. No, I don’t approve of her daughters choice, but as a human being with faults and failures, I know that kind of things happen. The family is not excusing it, they acknowledged it and are moving on.  The real hippocrisy is all the left wingers who would claim to be liberated, now hold this and other things against her and her family.  Yes her husband had a dui 22 years ago.. just so you know at that same time (according to his book) Obama was snorting cocaine. Let’s get over it and turn this back on the issues. Of course that’s probably why they aren’t doing this, because on the issues McCain/Palin (mostly Palin) has the right answer.  To the media, grow up… Your attacks are blatant bias and unprofessional…. Maybe this will be enough to seal the deal of new media being the source for real news. I am biased, I admit it and wouldn’t mind it from these other media sources if they would admit it… here’s what I imagine it could be like… “welcome to <insert news network name> News and public relations for the Obama Campaign”… Okay, they will never admit it. So for all this whining and ranting, guess what, I’m to the 85 – 90 % range of likely to vote for McCain, no actually it really would be voting for Palin.  I wonder if I could get a bumper sticker that says Palin first or that just says Pailin.  I got it… “Palin – Vice President”  You know way back when, they used to run separately from the Presidential ticket, not that it matters now. Hopefully she does temper his left leanings enough to tolerate. I’m just afraid if Obama gets in, we will soon have an updated raw… uh I mean, New deal, bringing more socialism to this great country.  Not all change is good.
